Quality Spas, Swim Spas & Saunas for Paterson Properties

Paterson is one of those towns most people drive through on the way to somewhere else, and that’s fine with the locals. Small village centre, heritage sandstone buildings, the river running through, rolling farmland on all sides. It’s quiet in the best way. If you own property around Paterson, you’re either farming, running a lifestyle block, or you just wanted a home that isn’t stacked up against the neighbours.

A quality spa suits that kind of property.

Just Spas Newcastle supplies and installs spas, swim spas, urban pools, saunas and wellness ice baths across Paterson and the wider Dungog Shire. Our showroom is in Gateshead, about 50 minutes south. We deliver to Paterson regularly, along with the surrounding areas of Vacy, Martins Creek, Woodville, Hinton, Tocal, Duns Creek and the rural blocks scattered along Paterson River.

Why Paterson Properties and Spas Line Up Well

A few things work in Paterson’s favour.

The blocks. Paterson properties are generally bigger than suburban blocks further south. Whether it’s an acreage lifestyle property out towards Vacy, a farm towards Tocal, or an older home on the edge of the village itself, you’ve usually got the space to install a spa properly — where the sun works, where the view works, where the access works.

The climate. Paterson runs colder in winter than the coastal suburbs. Genuine frost mornings, cold nights, the kind of winter where a warm soak after dinner makes actual sense. Summers get hot too, which is when cool-down evening spa use comes into its own. Year-round use is the norm up here.

The privacy. Most Paterson properties have neighbours you can’t see. That changes how a spa gets used. No screens, no fences blocking views, no worrying about being watched. You put the spa where it makes sense on the block, not where it’s hidden.

Who’s Putting Spas in Paterson

From what we’ve seen, a mix of three main groups.

Farming and rural families. Long days, physical work, sore backs and shoulders by the end of most weeks. A spa at home is one of the most sensible recovery tools you can have on a working property. Hydrotherapy isn’t a gimmick — it genuinely helps if your body’s been under it for decades.

Tree-changers and semi-retirees. People who’ve moved out from Newcastle, the Central Coast or further afield to slow down. For this group, the spa is about daily or weekly use as part of a slower, healthier lifestyle. Morning soak with coffee. Evening soak with a glass of wine. Winter nights that actually get used.

Short-stay owners. Paterson’s not a massive short-stay market, but it has its share — couples escapes, country weekenders, people chasing quiet. A spa on a Paterson rental property lifts the listing from generic country stay to something guests actively search for.

What We Stock for Paterson

Portable spas — the main option for Paterson homes. Sizes from 2.1m x 1.6m for couples or compact decks, up to 3.5m x 2.3m for larger households. Australian-made, insulated properly for cold rural winters, built for 15 to 20 year ownership.

Swim spas — a strong option for larger Paterson blocks. 4m, 5m and 6m models. If you want to swim regularly but a full concrete pool feels like overkill for a rural property, a swim spa gives you the exercise benefit with a much smaller footprint and running cost.

Urban pools — 4m, 6m and 8m. Plunge-pool sized with spa-grade insulation. Lower running costs than a traditional pool, which matters on a rural property where you’re thinking about energy use and tank water.

Infrared saunas — popular with the wellness crowd and anyone recovering from physical work. Gentler than traditional sauna, easier to use daily, and a genuine addition to a recovery routine.

Traditional saunas — the classic experience if that’s what you want.

Wellness ice baths — proper quality units. Good pairing with a spa for contrast therapy, especially if you’re working physically during the week.

Gazebos, Bali huts, accessories, parts — to finish the outdoor space and keep the spa running long-term.

Delivery to Paterson

Paterson deliveries are part of our regular Dungog-direction run. The drive up through Maitland and across is straightforward for our delivery team.

A few things worth flagging for rural Paterson properties:

Long driveways and cattle grids. Normal for the area. Not a problem, we just need to know on the enquiry form.

Gates and farm access points. Measure the narrowest point on the route and let us know — saves time on delivery day.

Low trees and overhanging branches. Common on older properties. We’ll check the route beforehand where it’s a concern.

Crane lifts. Occasionally needed where the spa has to go over a fence or onto a raised deck with no vehicle access. We coordinate it and give you the real cost upfront.

Electrical. A licensed electrician handles the connection. Older rural switchboards sometimes need a bit of extra thought. We can recommend good local electricians if you don’t already have one.

Most Paterson installs are done in a single visit — spa placed, levelled, connected, filled, chemistry balanced, handover done the same day. On more complex rural sites we’ll split it across two visits if needed.

Finance Options

Interest-free finance through Zip Money and Humm90 for approved applicants. Commercial and short-stay property owners can ask about ABN-based options.

Come in, call or enquire — we’ll run through what suits your situation.

Long-Term Support From an Actual Local Team

Paterson is a decent drive from any showroom. What you want to know before you buy is whether the supplier is going to still be around in five or ten years when something needs attention.

We will be. We’ve been operating from Gateshead for years. Same team, same number, same showroom. We stock genuine parts for the brands we sell. Most service issues can be handled over the phone without a callout — filter clean, chemistry adjustment, pump restart. When a visit is genuinely needed, we run to Paterson and the surrounding rural areas regularly.

For anyone running a short-stay property, we prioritise commercial service calls. A non-functioning spa during a booked weekend is a lost booking — we understand that properly.

Come See the Showroom

For a spa that’s going to sit on your property for the next 15 to 20 years, the showroom visit is worth making. Sitting in a few units is the only way to really know which one suits you. Different shells fit different bodies. Different jet layouts feel very different when you’re actually in the water.

The drive from Paterson to Gateshead is about 50 minutes. Easy trip, especially if you pair it with lunch somewhere along the way.
